Since March 2020 most performers, musicians, and live artists everywhere were forced to take a break from playing live and deal with struggles associated with Covid 19. As we now see the light at the end of the tunnel, this group of emcees and live musicians are ready to hit the live circuit with a passion like never before. During the break of live music Greenlights went on to complete 3 full length projects that all held significant time in the top ten NACC Hip Hop Charts (Art of Poise chiming in at #27 nationally for the year). Both projects were given high praise from DJ’s all around the country and given a generous amount of rotation from some highly notable independent and college radio stations. Including Chicago based Chirp Radio. “Space Craft” and “The Art of Poise” were also given respect from the Chicago underground scene, declaring Greenlights Music a sort of 1990’s “Native Tongues” feel. Greenlights Music has finally reached the ears of a greater audience and now wants to take it a step further. They have solidified themselves as a more “conscious'' breed of Hip Hop which is not too prevalent in rap anymore. In the same right you can hear the Chicago Hip Hop roots in Greenlights Music through punchline driven battle rhymes incorporated into intricate wordplay. Complete with a 4 sometimes 5 piece band they are a force live. Every emcee, singer, and musician involved is talented, focused, and experienced. Greenlights Music is a tremendous and musically gifted experience live.

A Beautiful Mood is the fourth full length album by Greenlights Music.

This time around band leader and producer RP tapped members of the group to provide live band instrumental and vocal samples. The thoughtful shift in production gave their latest release a more distinctive and musical voice.

Touching on subjects like Global Warming, Religion and the earned exhaustion of personal growth. A Beautiful Mood reflects the highs and lows of working class people.

With songs like Blue In The Face, We Make the Music and Everything Around Me, newest Greenlights member Bob Rok was given carte blanche with hooks and an abstract approach. Backed up masterfully with melodic and lyrical contributions from ABITIGHT.

In Bravo Cafe long time collaborator and underground legend Alo provided brilliant lyrics and scratches throughout the album.

Band members Willow Wells(vocalist) and Keyboard player Anthony Gomez provided a noteworthy duet in A Better Light.

This ambitious collaboration does not disappoint and establishes a group with a lot to say in the underground Chicago scene.
